Since its inception in 2015, MEPSC has been driven by a singular vision: to transform vocational education into a powerful enabler of employability, productivity and inclusive growth. The Council works at the intersection of skills, industry and education to bridge critical skill gaps and ensure that learning remains relevant in a rapidly evolving economic landscape. By championing industry-aligned, future-ready and transferable skills, MEPSC seeks to prepare individuals not only for today’s jobs but for the jobs of tomorrow supporting lifelong learning, workforce adaptability and sustainable career progression. Through this approach, MEPSC contributes to building a skilled, resilient and globally competitive talent pool that responds to emerging technologies, changing business models and the future of work.
MEPSC is a horizontal Sector Skill Council – A not-for-profit organisation under Section-8 of the Companies Act, 2013, working through a unique Public–Private Partnership model.
Our mandate is simple yet powerful: to create a workforce that is not just trained, but job-ready, equipped with both functional and generic skills that matter in real workplaces. To achieve this, we develop National Occupational Standards (NOS), Qualification Packs (QPs), curricula and model content; accredit and affiliate training partners; conduct training & assessments; and certify successful trainees.
We also help individuals explore entrepreneurship as a career path enabling many who may not find jobs to create opportunities instead.
