MEPSC is a horizontal Sector Skill Council (SSC) incorporated as a Section-8 (Not for Profit Company) under the Companies Act, 2013, in a one of its kind, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, under the tutelage of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). All India Management Association (AIMA) is the sole promoter of MEPSC.
MEPSC is a recognised Awarding Body by the Skills Regulator – National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and is supported by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
A huge percentage of Indian graduates are unemployable due to a lack of skills both technical and generic expected by employers. While a maximum of the applicants gets hired on the grounds of their technical skills and often get fired due to lack of generic skills. It is the set of Generic/ Behavioural/ Soft/ Employability Skills that creates diversity to the potency of the individual. As an emerging Sector Skills Council, MEPSC is committed to creating a technically and professionally competent workforce and industry professionals for both national and international markets.
MEPSC is targeting to train and certify nearly about 4.75 lakhs trainees by developing and framing 50 Qualifications Packs (QPs)/National Occupational Standards (NOS) including training of more than 550 Trainers over next 10 years.
Innovation will be a prerequisite for assuring appropriate skills and employment to the youths for meeting their aspirations. With progression in technology and flinching jobs, entrepreneurship is the trend ahead which must be optimally utilized to attain the declared mission of Skilled India. Another large group is of unemployed youth, who cannot get hired for a variety of reasons which needs to perceive at entrepreneurship as an opportunity for productive engagement. Yet another purpose of MEPSC is to focus on job roles that are not only specific towards sector and industry but function too. Candidates who are trained and certified by MEPSC for these roles would be movable from one sector to another as the functions are universal across all the sectors.
The Council is being driven by senior industry leaders and seasoned professional leaders. Mr. Ramakrishnan Mukundan, Tata Chemicals is commanding this initiative as Chairman of the Council.
Col Anil Kumar Pokhriyal, (Retired) is the Chief Executive Officer of MEPSC. The MEPSC Board is comprised of several equally renowned and experienced business leaders, academicians, NSDC, AIMA, and Ministry officials.

Today among all the transitions, there is one Indian body that’s encouraging the Indian managers to make the most of the new possibilities. One body that’s acclimatizing the improved global perspective and implementing the Indian managers for it. One body that’s ready for tomorrow is the All India Management Association (AIMA). The All India Management Association (AIMA) was created as an apex body of professional management with the active support of the Government of India and Industry in 1957. AIMA is a group- a body to pool management thoughts in the country, a forum to develop a national managerial ethos, an organization to facilitate the furtherance of the management profession in the country.
AIMA is a federation of Local Management Associations (LMAs). AIMA today affiliates 62 LMAs across the country and 2 co-operating management associations i.e. Qatar Indian Management Association and Mauritius Management Association. AIMA has established close linkages with over 3000 institutions and over 30,000 individual professionals directly and through a network of the Local Management Associations. AIMA’s activities include Distance Management Education, Management Development Programmes, National Events, Competitions, Research, Publication and Testing Services.
AIMA is frequently co-opted by the Government on Specialised Committees. AIMA is an active member of the Asian Association of Management Organisations (AAMO), which is the Asia-Pacific regional body of the World Management Council (CIOS). AIMA maintains close links with a number of overseas professional institutions like the American Management Association, Chartered Institute of Management (UK), all the National Management Organisations in the Asia Pacific Region, and St. Gallen University of Switzerland among others.
